video: Central Mass Lacrosse Playoffs: Nashoba Valley Tech at Westborough

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Westborough hosted Nashoba Valley Tech in the first round of the Central Mass lacrosse playoffs, and both teams came in looking to bounce back from losses. It appeared Nashoba Tech had rebounded quite well, as the Vikings opened up the day's scoring to take a 1-0 lead, but the Rangers took over from there. Behind a hat-trick from senior attacker Jeremy Lurier and two-goal efforts from freshman Jake Foster, sophomore Kyle Lemack and junior Tony Cibelli, Westborough rolled to an easy 18-3 victory. Junior midfielder Tom Lawton controlled nearly every draw, and the Ranger defense kept Nashoba Tech's talented senior Tom Bavis away from the net all day.

Next up for Westborough is most likely a third game against defending district champion and top seeded Algonquin, who faces off against 16th seed Hudson later today. The Rangers played Algonquin tough last week, and coach Matt Nofsinger is confident his team will be ready for the game.
