Champion’s 20 Points Not Enough, Holy Cross Falls to Lafayette 69-59

Champion was the only Crusader to reach double figures in the game.
The Crusaders fall to 12-14 overall and 6-7 in the Patriot League, while Lafayette improves to 7-17 overall and 3-10 in the Patriot League.
Crusaders Rally Falls Short
After trailing 33-21 at the half, the Crusaders trailed by three, 43-40, with 10:17 to play in the game.
From that point, Lafayette went on a 7-0 run to take a 50-40 lead.
Holy Cross would not get closer than six points the rest of the way.
The Crusaders shot 37% from the field and only took four free throws the entire game.
The Leaders
Champion’s 20 points came on 6 of 16 shooting from the field and 6 of 12 from three.
Anthony Thompson followed u with 9 points on 3 of 5 shooting from the field.
Next up
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, February 12 when they host Lehigh at 12 p.m.
The game will be shown on CBS Sports Network.
