Saturday, November 11, 2017
“It’s great to get the first win you know, and it is on the road which is great. We are pretty much a whole different team then we have had over the last couple of years so it was good to see us get a win,” said head coach Bill Carmody after the game.
Holy Cross Holds Off Sacred Heart
After leading by as 11 points, 36-25, at the half, Holy Cross saw their lead cut to one, 38-39, with 16 minutes to play in the game after Sacred Heart opened the half on a 13-3 run.
Holy Cross would answer back by scoring the next seven points and went on to lead by as many as 12, 58-46, midway through the half.
The Crusaders were still up by 10, 67-57, with 2:11 left to play, before Sacred Heart scored seven straight points to make the score 67-64.
The Pioneers had a chance to tie the game with less than 15 seconds left, but a three-point attempt by Hoehn missed.
