The Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team (9 - 12, 4 - 7 PL) defeated (10 - 14, 7 - 4) Colgate 70 - 60 on Thursday night at the Hart Center. The win snaps a two game losing streak for the Crusaders and earns them a split of the season series with Colgate.

Holy Cross trailed by ten points, 41 - 31, with 17 minutes to play in the game before going on a 13 - 4 run to pull to within a point at 45 - 44. Colgate would get their lead back up to three points on a couple of different occasions before a Eric Green free throw gave the Crusaders a 50 - 49 lead.
That free throw came in the midst of a second big Holy Cross run, this time an 11 - 0 run to put Holy Cross up 57 - 49 with 4:30 left. Colgate would not get any closer then four points the rest of the game.
Holy Cross was led by Justin Burrell who netted 15 points and dished out eight assists. Malachi Alexander followed up with 14 points of his own.
Colgate was led by Ethan Jacobs who poured in 13 points.
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, February 8 when they visit first place Bucknell. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

Eric Green
Eric Green had a big game off the bench for the Crusaders netting 13 points on 5 - of - 5 shooting from the field in 19 minutes of play time.
Green's 13 points is his highest point total since having 12 points against Boston University on New Year's Eve and then having 14 points against Nichols back in November.
This is the first time Green has reached double-figures in the last nine games.

Points off turnovers
Malcolm Miller led Holy Cross with three turnovers in the game but overall, the Crusaders did a really good job of holding onto the ball, only turning it over nine times.
Meanwhile, they forced Colgate into 12 turnovers and the Crusaders cashed in for 18 points off of the 12 turnovers.
Colgate only managed ten points off of Holy Cross's nine turnovers.

Justin Burrell
After scoring a total of three points in the previous two games, Justin Burrell came up big for Holy Cross against Colgate.
Burrell netted 15 points on 7 - of - 8 shooting from the field and dished out eight assists.
The 15 points is the highest point total that Burrell has put up since the NJIT game on December 12.
Every game is a huge game for Holy Cross and they will need Justin Burrell to help lead the way.

Points in the paint
Holy Cross won the points in the paint battle 34 - 24 over the Colgate Raiders.
This is the second straight game in which Milan Brown's Crusaders have made a concerted effort to get to the paint and for the second straight game they have shot over 50 % from the field.
Holy Cross shot 54 % from the field against Colgate.

2nd Half Rally
