Crusaders claim 1st win of the season

It was senior RB Reggie Woods' day - all day long - Saturday in New Britain, CT.
Woods carried the ball 24 times for a career-high 153 rushing yards, to lead Holy Cross to a 52-21 victory over Central Connecticut at Arute Field. The Crusaders totaled 419 rushing yards as team, their most in a single game since Oct. 29, 1983 against Columbia (when they had 583 rushing yards).
Holy Cross improves to 1-2 on the season with the win, while the Blue Devils fall to 0-3 overall.
Junior quarterback Ryan Laughlin completed seven of 14 passes on the day for 103 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to rushing 15 times for 64 yards and a score. He also directed a Crusader offense which totaled 522 total yards and 33 first downs for the game.
Freshman linebacker Kyle Young led the Holy Cross defense with 10 total tackles while making his first career start. Senior LB Tyler Zeoli added seven tackles, with a sack, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
The Crusaders return to action next Saturday, September 21st, when they play host to Monmouth at 6:00 pm.
