Malachi Alexander
One of the major reasons why the Crusaders were able to win this game was because of the big night they got from Malachi Alexander off the bench.
Alexander had 29 minutes and netted 13 points, pulled down six rebounds and had one steal. He went two for four from the field and knocked down seven of the eight free throws that he took.
Overall, Holy Cross won the battle of the benches 26-12.

Difference is in the free throws
NJIT actually shot the ball better then Holy Cross in the game. From the field, NJIT shot 48 percent and shot 44 percent from three-point land.
Holy Cross shot 37 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the arc.
The difference however, was the free throws. Holy Cross took 37 free throw attempts and made 31 of them, 83 percent.
NJIT took 32 free throw attempts, and made 18 of them, 56 percent.

Bounce back win
Coming into this game, the Crusaders had lost two games in a row and were blown out in both of those games. The first one was on the road to Sacred Heart and then Holy Cross got blown out at home by the University of Hartford.
This was a big win for the Crusaders to get back on the right track. They had good contributions from Justin Burrell and Malcolm Miller and Holy Cross found a way to win, despite their awful shooting numbers.
Next up is Canisius.
