Friday, March 16, 2012

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association will hold its annual Basketball Breakfast of Champions tomorrow at Worcester’s DCU Center.

Players, coaches and athletic director from each of the participating schools will be in attendance, and the breakfast will honor each teams remarkable run through the state playoffs. The breakfast will serve as the beginning of a weekend full of hoops in Worcester, as the DCU Center will also be hosting the state championship games for both boys and girls at all levels.

Basketball action will begin early the next morning at 10:45 am when Pentucket battles Sabis in the Girls Division III final. At 12:30 pm Danvers and St. Joseph’s face off in the Boys Division III final, followed by the Girls Division II final at 2:15 pm featuring Reading and Tyngsboro. Brighton will then face Mahar in the Boys Division II final at 4:00 pm, and Andover will play Holyoke at 5:45 for the title in Girls Division I.
