video: EXCLUSIVE: Jeter Caught In A Lie
Thursday, March 01, 2012
“Total mistake on my part that they don’t practice it,” he said. Valentine said that his bullpen coach Gary Tuck, who played for the Yankees, said that they do practice it.
Derek Jeter fired back at Valentine Wednesday saying, “why are we talking about this, really? He must be bored over there, huh? I don’t understand.” But this is where it gets interesting.
This conflicts with what Jeter said years ago in this clip found on Youtube taped years earlier. GoLocal reviewed dozens of videos relating to the play.
He said of the play, “flipping it home, that was just instinctual and it’s not something that I practice, I’ve never done it before. I’m sure I won’t do it again. I was just fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.”
So which is it Jeter? Do you and the Yankees practice that play or was it purely “instinctual” as you put it?
Hopefully, Bobby Valentine will see this Youtube clip of Jeter discussing the play and retake his original stance which was much more refreshing for Red Sox Nation.
