Holy Cross Basketball Set to Face UMass at DCU Center

“We look forward to resuming our series with UMass. We always want to challenge ourselves against top competition, and it is an added bonus that we can do so against an in-state rival. This year’s game will provide an excellent opportunity for our fans to see us play in downtown Worcester, and we anticipate there being a great atmosphere in the building," said Holy Cross coach Bill Carmody at the time of the announcement.
The meeting will be the first in a three-year series between the two schools and the 57th meeting between the programs all-time. The Crusaders lead the series 36-20.
Holy Cross This Season
The Crusaders are currently 0-2 on the season, losing to South Carolina 81-49 in their season opener and then falling to #18 Syracuse 90-46 in their previous game.
Holy Cross is led by senior guard Robert Champion, who averages 13 points and four rebounds per game.
Forward Malachi Alexander has contributed 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game early in the season.
Holy Cross at the DCU Center
The Crusaders have played a total of 21 games at the DCU Center with their last one coming in 2011 when they defeated Boston College 86-64.
Holy Cross and UMass have met at the DCU Center on three prior occasions, with UMass holding a 2-1 advantage in those game
Staying in State
Following the game against UMass, The Crusaders will stay in state to face Harvard on Tuesday, November 22 at 7 p.m.
