The Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team (8-10, 3-5 PL) defeated (7-13, 3-5) Navy 76-65 on Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center. The Crusaders have now won two straight games for the first time since starting the season 3-0.

Holy Cross trailed 20-9 and then 22-12 with ten minutes left in the first half before going on a 13-3 to tie the score at 25. A few minutes later, the Crusaders proceeded to close the half on a 9-2 run to take a 38-31 into the locker room at half time.
Holy Cross opened the second half on a 14-2 run speading it over the first seven minutes of the half to go up by 19. Navy would get no closer then 11 points the rest of the way.
Malachi Alexander led Holy Cross with 17 points while Malcolm MIller added 15 points of his own.
Navy was led by Brandon Venturini who netted 16 points for the Midshippman.
Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, January 28 when they visit Loyola. Tip- Off is set for 7:30 p.m.

Mitchell Hahn
Mitchell Hahn put up another solid performance for Holy Cross as hs consistent play time continues. Hahn has played at least 20 minutes in each of Holy Cross's last four games.
Against Navy, Hahn had eight points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field but also dished out a season high eight assists and grabbed three rebounds in 21 minutes of play time off the bench.

Malachi Alexander
Malachi Alexander led Holy Cross with 17 points for the second straight game. Alexander was 3-of-6 shooting from the field but knocked down 10-of-13 from the free throw line.
This marks the eighth straight game in which Malachi Alexander has reached double-figures for the Crusaders.
Alexander also grabbed three rebounds in the game.

Points off Turnovers
Cullen Hamilton led Holy Cross with three turnovers and the Crusaders turned the ball over 14 times as a team. However, Holy Cross dominated the points off turnovers battle.
The Crusaders took Navy's 15 turnovers and turned them into 23 points, while Navy only turned Holy Cross's 14 turnovers into 12 points.
Holy Cross only registered one steal in the game while Navy recorded six.

Points in the Paint
Holy Cross won the points in the paint battle 28-14 over Navy and that resulted in a high shooting percentage. Holy Cross shot 58 % from the field in the game, the result of getting some easy baskets.
Navy shot 50% from the field but 63% from three-point land.
The Crusaders have struggled from the field all season long but their last two games have been better. They will need to keep it up in order to get themselves back into conference contention.

Malcolm Miller
Malcolm Miller had a solid game for Holy Cross, netting 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field.
Miller also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists in the Crusader victory.
Miller has been in double figures in each of the last two games for Holy Cross and has shot well in both games. .714 in the last game and .600 against Navy. However, in the five games before that, he struggled just to get to a field goal percentage of of .300.
Holy Cross has to be hoping that Miller is turning things around.
