Holy Cross Defense Shuts Down Lehigh, Crusaders Roll 61-45

They held Lehigh to 29% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers (12 on steals) en route to a 61-45 win on Sunday afternoon at the Hart Center.
Holy Cross improves to 7-7 in the Patriot League and 13-14 overall, while Lehigh drops to 14-11 overall and 8-6 in the Patriot League.
Holy Cross Shuts Down Lehigh
The Crusaders led by one, 26-25, in the opening minutes of the second half before going on an 11-0 run to take a commanding 37-25 lead with 16:29 to play in the game.
After allowing Lehigh to get within nine, 37-28, the Crusaders scored five straight points to go up 42-18 with 11:49 left in the game.
They would seal the game with a 9-0 run with 5:31 left to take a 52-45 lead and roll to a 61-45 victory.
The 45 points allowed are the fewest the Crusaders have allowed all season. The 29.2 field goal percentage is also the lowest that Holy Cross has allowed all season.
The Leaders
The Crusaders were led by Karl Charles who poured in 15 points on 3 of 6 shooting from the field and 8-8 from the free throw line.
Robert Champion followed up with 13 point son 5 of 11 shooting from the field while also grabbing six rebounds.
Next up
Holy Cross returns to action on February 15 when they host Army at the Hart Center.
The Crusader have four games left of their season, three of which are at home.
Tip-off for the game against Army is at 7 p.m.
