The win improves the Crusaders to 10-1 overall and 7-8 in the Patriot League.
Holy Cross Edges Army
The Crusaders trailed Army 65-64 with under a minute to play when guard Patrick Benzan drove to the basket and converted a layup to give Holy Cross a 66-65 lead.
On Army’s ensuing possession, the Crusaders forced a turnover which set up a breakaway dunk by Austin Butler to put Holy Cross up 68-65.
Butler would seal the win a few seconds later at the free throw line.
Holy Cross was led by freshman Caleb Green, who poured in 18 points.
Next up
Holy Cross returns to action Saturday, February 17 when they host Bucknell.
Game time is set for 12 p.m.
