Holy Cross Falls to Lehigh 87-66

Sunday, January 17, 2016

The Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team (7-10, 2-4 PL) fell 87-66 to (5-12, 3-3 PL) Lehigh on Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center. Holy Cross has now lost three games in a row and four of their last five.

After trailing 34-16 late in the first half, Holy Cross cut their deficit to eight, 44-36 early in the second half but that would be as close as they would get.

Lehigh would go on a 16-3 run to go up 60-39 and cruise to the victory. The Crusaders would not get closer than 18 the rest of the way.

The Leaders

Matt Husek poured in a career-high 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field, including 4 of 6 from three-point land to lead Holy Cross.

Malachi Alexander followed up with 10 points.

Next UP

The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, January 20 when they host Army at the Hart Center.

Game time is set for 7 p.m.
