Peter Pujals throws five touchdown passes

Holy Cross quarterback Peter Pujals threw five touchdown passes as the Crusaders cruised passed #9 New Hampshire 51-26 on Saturday at Fitton Field.

The win is the Crusaders’ first win over a top 10 opponent since the 2005 season.

Holy Cross improves to 2-1 on the season.

Holy Cross Cruises Past New Hampshire

The Wildcats scored the first points of the game at the 9:03 mark of the first quarter when New Hampshire’s Trevor Knight found Neil O’Connor on a six yard touchdown pass to give the Wildcats a 7-0 lead.

However, Holy Cross would score the next 16 points of the game.

Pujals threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Martin Dorsey, while kicker A.J. Wells converted field goals of 46, 29 and 37 yards.

Pujals added touchdown passes of six yards to tight end Derek Mountain and 15 yards to  wide receiver Blaise Bell in the second half.

Senior wide receiver  Andre Harton scored on a 20-yard reverse as the Crusaders took a 37-13 lead in the third quarter.

The Wildcats would get no closer than 18 points the rest of the way.

Next up

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, September 23 when they visit Dartmouth.

Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
