Holy Cross Football Picked 3rd in Patriot League Preseason Poll

The Holy Cross football team received 47 votes and was picked to finish in a tie for third place in the 2016 Patriot League preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors. 

Colgate was picked to finish first in the poll with 70 points and 10 first place votes while Fordham was picked second with 63 points and three first place votes. 

Lehigh tied with Holy Cross for third. Bucknell, Lafayette and Georgetown rounded out the poll, in that order. 

Holy Cross Players Make All-Patriot League Team 

The Crusaders saw five of their players selected to the 2016 preseason All-Patriot League team on Tuesday. 

The players included Senior defensive lineman Dewayne Cameron, senior wide receiver Brendan Flaherty, senior defensive backLuke Ford, junior defensive back Alim Muhammad and senior quarterback Peter Pujals. 

Holy Cross last Season 

Holy cross is coming off of a 2015 season where they went 6-5 overall and 3-3 in the Patriot League. 

The Crusaders return 16 of 22 starters and are scheduled to open the 2016 season when they visit Morgan State on September 3.
