Holy Cross Holds On for 67-61 Win Over Colgate

The Crusaders have won four of their last five games and improve to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in Patriot League play.
Holy Cross Holds on
The Crusaders led by six points, 43-37, with 14 minutes to play in the game when they went on a 14-6 run to take a commanding 57-43 lead with 8:57 left.
Holy Cross would be up by 13 points, 60-47, when Colgate went on a quick 8-0 run to get to within five, 60-55 with four minutes left.
Colgate would get as close as four, 63-59, before Malachi Alexander knocked down a jump shot with1:16 left to push Holy Cross’ lead back to six points.
The Crusaders made two of their final four free throws and held on for the win. Holy Cross shot just 47% from the free throw line in the game.
The Leaders
Malachi Alexander led the Crusaders with 18 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the field while also grabbing eight rebounds.
Karl Charles followed up with 13 points on 4 of 6 shooting from the field while dishing out six assists.
Next up
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, January 8 when they host Bucknell.
Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
