Holy Cross Rallies Past Loyola 64-57 for 1st Patriot League Win of Season

“We said these are the things we are going to focus on, take your time, don’t shoot fast and just get the shot that you are going to make and for the most part we did that,” said Holy Cross head coach Bill Carmody in his post-game press conference.
With the win, Holy Cross snaps a five-game losing streak and improves to 4-11 overall. They are 1-3 in the Patriot League.
Holy Cross Rallies in 2nd Half
Holy Cross trailed by 11 points, 35-24, with 15:57 to play in the game.
They then trailed 39-30 just a few minutes later before going on a 20-2 run to take a 50-41 lead.
During the run, freshman guard Austin Butler scored eight of his 12 points to lead the Crusaders.
Loyola got within one point on two different occasions, however, Holy Cross knocked down six of eight free throws in the final 35 seconds to seal the win.

Holy Cross returns to action on Thursday, January 11 when they visit Navy.
Game time is set for 7 p.m.
