NCAA Ice Hockey Regionals set

Boston College will start its trek toward another hockey national title at Worcester's DCU Center.

UMass Lowell, which defeated Providence 3-1 in the Hockey East semifinals and New Hampshire 4-0 in the championship, won the league title and will play in the Northeast Regional in Worcester, MA (DCU Center) as the #2 seed. Five Hockey East teams earned bids into the 16-team event overall. The remainder of the field is selected at-large.

Boston College takes on 4th seeded Denver Saturday at 4:00 pm, while UMass-Lowell faces 3rd seeded Minnesota State-Mankato Saturday night at 7:30.  The two winners will play Sunday, March 30th at 5:00 pm for the Regional Championship and the right to move onto the Frozen Four. 

Minnesota was the No. 1 overall seed. The other No. 1 seeds, in order, included Boston College, Union and Wisconsin. The NCAA Frozen Four will be held April 10th and 12th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.
