Friday, September 09, 2011
Frank "Happy" Dobbs, who was the head coach for the Brown Men's Basketball Team in the 1990's, is the lead candidate to be Tim O'Shea's top assistant at Bryant University. Dobbs helped Brown to some of its best seasons and developed Brown stars including Eric Blackiston, Rick & Brian Lloyd and Steve Silas.
Dobbs' was a three-year starter at Villanova in the 1980's and then was the top assistant at Boston College before getting the Brown job.
Father - Son
Last year, GoLocal featured a story on the Dobbs father-and-son relationship. The addition of Dobbs will bolster the emerging Division 1 program that saw tremendous improvement with O'Shea coaching.
