NEW: Patriots Bring Back Blount

Thursday, November 20, 2014

The New England Patriots announced the re-signing of running back LeGarrette Blount early Thursday morning, pending a physical.

The deal is a two year deal worth the veteran minimum, however the contract is laden with incentives.

Last season with the Patriots, Blount had 772 yards on 153 carries and seven touchdowns and had is most memorable performance in the Patriots playoff victory over the Colts at Gillette Stadium where he ran for 166 yards and four touchdowns.

LeGarrette Blount became available to the Patriots after being cut by the Steelers on Tuesday morning after their Monday Night game in which he walked off the field early, unhappy that he didn't get one carry in the game.

To make room o the roster for Blount, the Patriots will likely waive defensive lineman Casey Walker.

The New England Patriots are currently on a six game winning streak and host the Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
