With Hurricane Sandy bearing down on New England, multiple sporting events have been pushed back throughout Central Massachusetts.

Worcester Public Schools will not play any sporting events as long as schools are closed, and multiple colleges in the area are pushing games back as well.

Holy Cross

Holy Cross' men's soccer team will not play its game against Harvard, originally scheduled for 7 pm Tuesday. The game was set to be played in Worcester, but has been postponed with no timeframe set for a rescheduled matchup.

Assumption

Assumption has pushed back two games scheduled to take place on Tueday. The Greyhounds' women's volleyball team was set to face Northeast 10 foe Le Moyne, while the men's hockey team was preparing for its season opener against Central Mass rival Nichols.

Make up dates for both home contests are still to be determined.

Worcester State

The Lancers will not be able to play either of their sporting events scheduled for Wednesday. Worcester State's men's soccer team was about to hit the road to take on Bridgewater State, but that game has been pushed back with no makeup date set as of now.

The Lancers' women's volleyball team was also going to host Salem St. Wednesday night, but that game has also been postponed indefinitely.

Anna Maria College

Anna Maria's field hockey team was set to play host to an NECC Semifinal game against league foe Wheelock on Wednesday, but that game has been pushed back. The tournament contest has been tentatively rescheduled for the following night at 6 pm.
