PawSox Search For National Anthem Singer In Central Mass

Friday, March 08, 2013

Have you ever dreamed of singing the National Anthem in front of a sellout crowd at a Red Sox game? The Pawtucket Red Sox want to give you your big chance.

The 3rd season of PawSox Idol is headed to Central Mass where the best singers Worcester County has to offer can audition for a chance to wow the crowd before Sunday home games this season and compete for fan votes at each Friday home game.

Auditions in Central Mass will be held at area malls in the coming weeks. Head to the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough next Saturday, March 16, from noon to 4:00 p.m. to test your pipes against other baseball fans. On Saturday, March 23, the PawSox Idol crew will head to the Auburn Mall from noon to 4:00 p.m. in search of the team's next guiding voice.

Contestants will have 60 to 90 seconds to impress the judges performing any song of their choice, and the more family, friends and fans they bring with them to cheer them on, the better.

For the Solomon Pond Mall auditions, contestants must register by Tuesday, March 12, and all contestants must be at least 15 years old. Registration information is available on the PawSox Idol website.

A chance to sing the National Anthem isn't the only prize up for grabs in the competition.

Gift cards to the Warwick Mall, artistic direction and development from Big Noise Music Firm, professional photos shoot taken by Safari Photography, recording studio time from Reel to Real Recording Studio and an automatic spot on Community Auditions TV Show for the winner are all awaiting this year's contestants if they can prove they've got the singing chops to warrant the title of PawSox Idol.
