PC Friars Jamine Peterson Dismissed From Team

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

The offseason from hell for Keno Davis and the PC Friars men’s basketball program got even worse on Tuesday.

The school announced that they have dismissed sophomore forward Jamine “Greedy” Peterson from the team for “violation of team rules.”

Davis released a statement saying, “Jamine had a productive season in 2009-2010.  However, regardless of his athletic accomplishments, it is essential to the integrity of the program that every student-athlete meets the high standards and expectations we have at Providence College.”

The news comes just over a month after two PC men’s basketball players were kicked out of school after being charged with assaulting another student.

Peterson’s loss is a significant one on the floor as he led the team in scoring (19.6) and rebounding (10.2).  He apparently will not transfer to another school and instead turn pro.  Peterson apparently has offers on the table from a number of teams overseas but hopes to play in the NBA.
