Pridgen Scores 30 Points, Holy Cross Falls to Lehigh 89-82

Freshman Joe Pridgen poured in 30 points, but the Holy Cross Crusaders men’s basketball team fell to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 89-82 on Wednesday night at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Pridgen’s points came on 11-of-14 from the field and seven of nine free throws.

The loss drops Holy Cross to 3-23 overall and 2-11 in the Patriot League with the loss.

Lehigh improves to 7-18 overall and 4-9 in the conference.

Holy Cross Falls to Lehigh

The Crusaders jumped out to an early 15-8 lead after the first five minutes of action.

Lehigh responded with an 11-2 run to pull in front, and went on to lead by 10 points late in the opening frame.

Lehigh took a 41-33 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, the Mountain Hawks led by ten, 53-43, with 15:53 left to play, before the Crusaders used an 8-2 run to get within four, 55-51.

Holy Cross later was down six, 69-63, with 7:19 remaining, before Lehigh went on a 7-2 run to take 76-65 lead.

Holy Cross would get no closer than seven points the rest of the way, as the Mountain Hawks held on for the victory.

Next Up

Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, February 15 when they host Lafayette.

Game time is set for 2 p.m.
