Red Sox Rally to Beat Twins 6-3, Stay in 1st Place in AL East

Boston pitcher David Price picked up his third win of the season, going 7 innings, giving up three runs on six hits while striking out 7.
The Red Sox improve to 43-35 on the season.
Red Sox Rally in 5th
Trailing 3-1 in the fifth inning, the Red Sox scored three runs in the inning to take a 4-3 lead.
Jackie Bradley Jr. hit and RBI double to pull the Red Sox within one after Hanley Ramirez scored from first base on the play. Bradley got a little help from the Green Monster as the ball hit the ladder and dropped straight down, instead of bouncing off the wall.
Christian Vazquez followed up with a ground ball to short that bounced off the wrist of Minnesota’s Jorge Polanco and bounced away for an error.
Deven Marrero would follow up with a game tying RBI grounder to tie the game at three, before a Betts single would give the Red sox a 4-3 lead.
Ramirez would hit a home run to center in the 6th inning and Tzu-Wei Lin would score arun following a triple in the 7th to put the Red Sox up 6-3.
Craig Kimbrel pitched a one hit 9th inning for his American League leading 22nd save of the season on 23 tries.
Next up
Boston now begins a 10-game road trip in Toronto on Friday night at 7 p.m.
The pitching matchup is Boston’s Doug Fister against Toronto’s Marco Estrada.
