Red Sox Set to Open Season vs. Phillies

Monday, April 06, 2015

David Ortiz

The Boston Red Sox get set to open the season this afternoon when they face the Philadelphia Phillies at 3 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Both teams are looking to have bounce back years after disastrous 2014 seasons.

Clay Buchholz will make the start on the mound for Boston while Cole Hamels gets the start for the Phillies.

One interesting note for the Red Sox is that David Ortiz will play first base in the National League ballpark with no DH spot available.

Newcomers Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval will bat fourth and fifth respectively in the Red Sox lineup.

Meanwhile, Phillies slugger Ryan Howard will bat fourth in their lineup.

The Red Sox first game of the season can be seen on NESN.
