One Run Enough for Phillies
After the Red Sox were unable to score with one out and a man on third in the top of the 8th, Philadelphia’s Andrew Knapp hit a single off Chris Sale to set the stage for pinch-hitter Ty Kelly in the bottom of the inning.
Kelly hit a line drive into the left-field corner to score Knapp and give the Phillies a 1-0 lead in the game.
In the 9th, Phillies’ closer Hector Neris came on and picked up his sixth save in seven tries. The win is Philadelphia’s first interleague win of the season.
Boston only managed five hits in the game
