The New England Patriots acquired DL Albert Haynesworth in a trade with the Washington Redskins in exchange for an undisclosed draft choice.

Haynesworth, 6-6, 350, is a veteran of nine NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans (2002-08) and the Washington Redskins (2009-10). He originally entered the NFL as a first round draft choice (15th overall) by the Titans in 2002 out of Tennessee. He signed with Washington as an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 7, 2009.

Haynesworth earned Pro Bowl honors and was also named Associated Press first-team All-Pro in 2007 and 2008. For his career, Haynesworth has started in 86 of 110 games and accumulated 526 total tackles, 30.5 sacks 20 passes defensed, seven forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. His best statistical season was in 2008 with Tennessee when he registered 75 total tackles and a career-high 8.5 sacks.
