U.S. Olympic Cyclist Catlin Passes Away at 23

Catlin’s brother, Colin, wrote in a Facebook post that she committed suicide.
"Kelly was more than an athlete to us, and she will always be part of the USA Cycling family. The entire cycling community is mourning this immense loss. We are offering continuous support to Kelly's teammates, coaches, and staff,” Rob DeMartini, USA Cycling president, and CEO, said in a statement to CNN.
According to NBC, she was found dead in her residence on Stanford University's campus.
About Catlin
Catlin was a member of the USA Cycling national team.
She won the silver medal in women’s team pursuit at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
She also raced on the road for the Rally UHC Pro Cycling Team.
Along with being an Olympian and a cyclist, Catlin was an alum of the University of Minnesota.
She was a graduate student at Stanford University, where she was studying computational mathematics.
She was a native of Minnesota.
