Saturday, March 23, 2019
The extension is said to be worth around $150 million. Before signing the new deal, Sale would have become a free agent after the MLB season.
Sale also struck out 237 batters and started the All-Star game for the American League.
The 29-year-old went on the disabled list twice during the season with shoulder problems. He then returned for the playoffs and helped guide the Red Sox to a World Series championship.
