What To Watch For: Patriots vs. Bills

Saturday, October 11, 2014

The New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills will take the field in Orchard Park on Sunday with 1st place in the AFC East on the line. Both teams enter the game with a 3-2 record, both coming off wins -- the Patriots over the Bengals and Bills over the Lions. Both teams enter the game with multiple injuries and question marks, here are some thing to watch for.

Patriots Offense vs Brandon Spikes:

Former Patriot Brandon Spikes will be going against the Patriots for the first time since signing with the Bills in the offseason. Spikes is on the Bills injury report, but there is little doubt that he will play. When Spikes is right, he is a dominant force in the run game. With Bryan Stork dealing with a concussion, the Patriots will have to be even more stout up the middle.

Darrelle Revis vs Sammy Watkins

Revis is likely going to be tasked with shutting down the one true threat for the Bills. Watkins is extremely dangerous with the ball in hands, meaning Revis will have to keep the ball out of them. Watkins mentioned during the week that he had knowledge that Revis would man-up on him, but we will have to wait and see.

Patriots vs Buffalo Crowd

The crowd known as "Bills Mafia" should be extremely loud on Sunday. With new, stable ownership, the crowd is reinvigorated and will be treating this game as an early-season "Super Bowl". The Patriots struggled to deal with crowd noise in Kansas City earlier this season, will Buffalo have the same impact?
