Whitinsville Christian’s Ebbeling Signs National Letter of Intent

Friday, March 29, 2013

Scott Ebbeling signs his national letter of intent.

One of central Massachusetts' best golfers has made a decision on where he will attend college.  Scott Ebbeling of the Whitinsville Christian School signed a national letter of intent to play golf as a student-athlete at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois next next year.

Here is the official press release from the Whitinsville Christian School on Ebbeling's signing:

Senior Scott Ebbeling of Whitinsville Christian School signed a national
letter of intent to play golf as a student-athlete at Trinity Christian College of
Palos Heights, Illinois. Trinity, a school of 1,400 students in the Reformed
Christian tradition, is located just southwest of Chicago, and competes in the
NAIA and NCCAA as a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic
Conference. Scott plans to major in Business during his time at Trinity. Trinity
golf coach Dennis Harms said of the signing: “We at Trinity are thrilled to have
a golfer of Scott’s capabilities join our program. As a qualifier for the state
championship tournament in Massachusetts and a young man of high
character, Scott is a perfect fit for our school. We are also thrilled to have
another Whitinsville Christian student at Trinity – one who knows who we are
at the core as a school in the Reformed Christian tradition. We are very, very
happy about that.”

Ebbeling has been a member of the Northbridge High co-op golf team for which he has been the team's MVP the past two years.  This past season he went a stellar 9-0-1 in match play.

In August of last year, Ebbling finished second at the NEPGA Junior Tour's event at Green Hill which involved boys 16-18 years of age.

Ebbling is excited about attending Trinity and tells GoLocalWorcester.com, "I am really happy that I am now committed to Trinity. The big thing for me was to play golf at the collegiate level. Another thing that is nice is that my cousin Sam is on the team, and it is great to have my cousin on campus. I love the fact that the campus is near Chicago, and feel that that may open up opportunities for me in the future. I feel Trinity is a great fit, and I am excited about this great opportunity."
