Worcester Declares August 20 as Bravehearts Day, Will Celebrate with Rally

Thursday, August 20, 2015

In celebration of back-to-back Future Collegiate Baseball League Championships, the City of Worcester has named August 20 as Worcester Bravehearts Day.

The City of Worcester, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Worcester Bravehearts are encouraging Bravehearts fans and Worcester residents to join them for a rally on Thursday at 12 PM during the final concert of the season for the Out to Lunch Concert Series.

As GoLocalWorcester reported, the Bravehearts won the FCBL Championship for the second year in a row on Sunday afternoon in improbably fashion. After beginning June with a 10-game losing streak, the Bravehearts snuck into the playoffs with a 26-30 record and seven games behind the first place Bristol Blues

The Bravehearts defeated Bristol in the championship winning the first and third games in a best-of-3 series - sealing the championship with a 6-4 win on Sunday.
