Worcester Soccer U14 Boys Win Central Mass. Championship

Monday, June 24, 2013

It's all smiles this week for the Worcester Youth Soccer League's U14 boys team, which captured the Central Massachusetts title in the division 2 bracket by defeating Douglas 1 – 0 over the weekend.

As a result, the team is now headed to Lancaster this weekend (June 28 – 30) to represent Central Massachusetts in the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC). This tournament brings together the various district champions throughout the state for a chance to crown a State Champion.

"I am extremely proud of these boys," said Head Coach Alex Corrales. "Seventeen of the 18 players on this team are actually U13 players playing in a U14 bracket. They have been playing against older, bigger, faster and stronger players, but their technical play and heart is what makes this team special." (Read more below team photo.)
