Wrapping Up The Weekend: You Gotta Love Rex!
Monday, August 08, 2011
Some random thoughts from the weekend while watching the Red Sox-Yankees game Sunday night:
-Does it really matter what happens between the Red Sox and Yankees during the regular season?
-And has the Patriots-Jets rivalry surpassed Red Sox-Yankees?
-Bill Belichick can say whatever he wants about it being a “media creation,” but there is no doubt that his team appears to be switching its’ base defense from the 3-4 to the 4-3. If you’ve seen any of their practices, that is what they have been running primarily. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck………….
-How upset do you think that Tiger Woods was watching his former caddie Stevie Williams help Adam Scott to a victory at the Bridgestone Invitational?
-Having said that, I wish that Williams would just shut his mouth because he was nobody before he carried Tiger’s bag on Tour.
-Brad Faxon started strong in his first event on the Champions Tour but finished tied for 53rd at the 3M Championship.
-Will Rex Ryan ever shut his mouth?
-Most of us hate it when we put our foot in our mouth, but not Rex!
-Wake me up when the NBA lockout is over with.
-The only thing missing from my high school’s 25th reunion this past weekend was Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days” as we waxed nostalgic about the good old days.
-Congratulations to Deion Sanders for his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame over the weekend. “Neon Deion” is the only player to have played in both a Super Bowl and a World Series.
