Summer in Rhode Island is one of the best times to snag inside deals, particularly in the city (you won't find bikinis at Narragansett on sale... yet). We took a look around and rounded up the best fashion grabs and events for the mid-summer.

The Limited hits Providence Place

A brand-new Limited store has opened up this week at Providence Place Mall, and with a splash. Check out what's new at this totally revitalized shop on Level 2 right near Nordstrom. A perfect combination.

Strada hits the sidewalk

This is every shoe-girl's favorite annual sale. Strada, the style-savvy shop in Wayland Square, puts all kinds of designer shoes onto its sidewalk at the deepest discounts imagineable. We are talking up to 80% off, meaning shoes for $28, $38, and $48. Sale runs July 14-17. 185 Wayland Ave, Providence, 272-1935.

Tiffany Peay brings in the pearls

The Tiverton Four Corners jeweler with her eye on the most delicate, fashionable setting for all your favorite stones and gems, is hosting a weeklong collaborative event all about pearls from Thursday, July 21 to Wednesday, July 27. Pamella Regan-Fox, pearl specialist from Sydney, Australia, and local jeweler Peter Tirpaeck of The Studio by the Sea in Little Compton, RI, will be in-studio on Saturday and Sunday for short lectures on how pearls are made, how to care for them, and advice on selection and buying. More sales hit Providence Place

The bargains are getting deeper and deeper... up to 75% off at H&M through July 20; buy one tank get one free at LOFT (also through July 20), and at Express buy one pair of jeans and get the second pair 50% off (all month).
