A new restaurant is coming to the  Mercantile Center.

A new lease agreement with the Massachusetts-based hospitably company, Broadway Hospitality Group (BHG), has been signed with Franklin Realty Advisors to open a new restaurant in 2021.

“We are excited that Broadway Hospitality Group has chosen downtown Worcester’s Mercantile Center for a new restaurant location. We are confident about its ability to provide an enhanced restaurant scene to complement the energetic business and residential communities of downtown Worcester. The vibrancy that Broadway Hospitality Group instills in its establishments is a perfect match to what the Mercantile Center complex has come to embody in downtown Worcester,” said Chip Norton, Owner of Franklin Realty Advisors and Managing Director of Mercantile Center.

The New Restaurant

The new restaurant will consist of 500-seats in a combined indoor/outdoor space of 12,000 square feet at 2 Mercantile Street.

As the rendering shows, a rooftop bar is set to be part of the design.

“We are pleased to welcome a new restaurant to downtown Worcester, as it joins a growing number of distinguished retail neighbors at Mercantile Center. Broadway Hospitality Group’s interest in our community signifies the continued revitalization of a burgeoning downtown, and we are excited by the area’s continued growth as the place to work, live and socialize,” said Worcester City Manager, Edward M. Augustus Jr.

Mercantile Center Expanding

This latest announcement continues the growth of the Mercantile Center.

Earlier this year, it was announced that a Ruth’s Chris Steak House would be opening in the fall of 2020.

“As you are aware, Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be coming to Mercantile Center in the fall of 2020. We are thrilled to have Broadway Hospitality Group joined with Ruth’s Chris, providing the area with a strong selection of top-notch restaurants,” said Norton.
