Message: From GoLocalWorcester by GoLocalWorcester Political Team: It is still early, but the first two big names to commit to run for Governor in the Commonwealth in 2014 are Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker. For each of these two it is an effort towards redemption. Coakley, who was the odds-on favorite to win the United States Senate seat which opened when Ted Kennedy died only to lose badly in the special election to Scott Brown. Similarly, Baker was suppose to beat Deval Patrick in 2010, but his campaign got tied into the complexity of a three way race and GOP attacks on Tim Cahill. The result was allowing Patrick to win re-election. Many thought it was Baker's race to win. http://www.golocalworcester.com/politics/Who-Would-You-Vote-for-Governor-Baker-or-Coakley
