Message: From GoLocalWorcester by GoLocalProv Business Team: Rhode Island recently got hit with the news that TJX Corp would close or convert all of the AJ Wright store across the country and in RI. Sad? Certainly, for the workers and those loyal customers, but certainly nothing new. Retailers come and go and here is a look at a few former icons. We could have included the Outlet and Shepard's, but those were given. How about Caldor? Was the a true RI brand? Not really, they were headquartered in CT. Also under consideration was Ann & Hope and Apex, but they still have a legacy in some retail existence now. Brooks was a consideration too, but they merged. These retail brands listed functionally did not get acquired - they just went away. http://www.golocalworcester.com/business/dead-retail-brands
