8 Weeks to Better Living: Final Assessment

Saturday, April 28, 2012

Did you reach your goal? Are you interested in setting a new goal? Go right back to step 1 and you're on your way!

I am sad to have reached the end of the 8 Weeks to Better Living Challenge.  This has been an incredible journey for me mostly because of the feedback I have received from those of you who signed on for the challenge and came for the ride.  I have heard from many of you in the hallway of my building, in the supermarket, and other random places as well as Facebook and Twitter.   I  appreciate the support and feedback regarding your personal experiences and how the challenge helped you. Many thanks to Bronwyn Dannelfelser, Pat Paolino Cruz and Amy Diaz of the Social Women for their participation and support of Better Living and for sharing their personal stories and successes with the group.

My goal was specific.  Carve out 2 – 3 hours of personal time each week.  I am feeling pretty successful as I managed to achieve this goal around Week 3 and have been able to stick with it.  I am now looking to identify my next goal and hope you might want to continue the challenge with me.

Thoughts for Keeping Your Better Living Challenge Going

If you achieved the goal you set for yourself during the challenge, Yay you.  If you’re not quite there yet, don’t give up.  We are all a work in progress and some things just take more time.  Re-align yourself with your goal and give yourself another 4 weeks to get achieve it.

Many of you told me you had identified several goals during the assessment.  Pat Paolino Cruz thought she could use help in all of the categories we discussed.  Let’s say you identified time management as your number one goal.  If the 8 week model worked for you, and you came away with a better system for managing your time, now would be the perfect opportunity to revisit your assessment and choose what ranked second.  You can visit www.CanditaClaytonLiveBetter.com and review the assessment anytime.

Get a friend to commit with you.  Accountability was what made the challenge successful for me and for many of you.  Sharing your successes or struggles can be helpful on a number of levels. First that pat on the back that we all need on occasion is readily available. Second when you need some inspiration to keep going, you know who to call or message.

Living better takes a concerted effort.  It’s easy to fall into patterns and routines that don’t serve us or support where we really want to be.  Take the time to identify what would really make your life better, visit the 8 Weeks to Better Living Challenge page on Facebook and let us help and support you.  We’ll be there.
