GETTING OUT: 8 Best French Fries in Worcester

Too often dismissed as simply a side dish, french fries rarely get the attention they deserve. Curly, waffle, sweet potato, or truffle - take your pick! At these Worcester restaurants, fries are so delicious, you’ll be lucky if you can save room for that burger.

Loaded Truffle Fries

You can’t eat at VIA without indulging in the “Truffle Frites with Parmigiano,” (thin-cut frites with fresh Parmesan and truffle oil). They’re still new on the Worcester restaurant scene, but Ritual also offers a delicious appetizer dish of truffle fries. If you just want a side order, try the homemade frites.
Via: 89 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester, MA (508) 754-4842
Ritual: 281 Main Street, Worcester, MA (508) 762-9501

Quantity, Variety, and Value

Quantity, variety and value: get all 3 in a full pound of waffle fries at Wings Over Worcester. Waffles fry flavors include: Plain, Cajun, Mesquite, Garlic Parmesan, and Ranch. Best of all, the entire pound order is only $3.99.
WIngs Over Worcester: 1 Kelley Square, Worcester MA (508) 421-9464

Skinny Fries

While they may not be fries in the traditional sense, the new Tuscan Chips at Prezo's Grille & Bar pack plenty of flavor for the start of your meal. Enjoy the thinly sliced potatoes, lightly fried, and dipped in garlic butter sauce along with parmesan cheese. Be sure to check out this Italian spin on the classic fry.
Prezo's Grille and Bar: 229 1/2 East Main Street, Milford, MA 01757 508-634-0101

Luck of the Irish

No one does potatoes better than the green ol’ motherland. Try the sweet potato fries with Maple dipping sauce at O’Connor’s Restaurant and Bar. Really hungry? Test drive “Spud’s Irish Potato Nachos” - seasoned waffle potato fries topped with red onions, black olives, scallions, chopped tomatoes, jalapenos, Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, and sides of sour cream and salsa.

Best of the 5’s

Swing by President Obama’s favorite fast-food spot, Five Guys, for satisfaction-guaranteed fries. Choose between Cajun Style or Five Guys Style, (russet potato slices fried in peanut oil, which is cholesterol-free). Or, just head up Lincoln Street to 5 & Diner for your choice of Regular Fries, Chili Cheese Fries, or Cheese Fries. Get really daring and go for the “Loaded Waffle Fries,” (waffle fries topped with chili and cheese).
Five Guys: 537 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA (508) 853-2000
5 & Diner: 525 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA (508) 852-6100

Sweet Tooth?

If you want some of Worcester's best sweet potato fries and a chance to eat outside, head to the Flying Rhino for a batch that comes with spices and maple cream drizzle.
