slides: Kick Off of City Hall Concert Series

Saturday, June 30, 2012

This Friday saw the kickoff of the summer-long Out to Lunch Concert Series and Farmers Market at the Worcester Common.

For their first celebration, the event featured the cool jazz of The Linda Dagnello Jazz Quintet that fit the muggy summer weather as diners stayed cool under umbrellas behind City Hall.

Local restaurants Ritual and the Loving Hut were on site, serving up delicious lunch fare.

Fresh produce and homemade goods were also available at the farmers’ market, and local youth showed their wordsmith skills as the Worcester Youth Slam Poetry team performed to a sizable crowd.

If you missed the first session of the Out to Lunch series, check out our slideshow and make sure you visit next week for more amazing music, food, and local produce.

Upcoming performances to include: July 6th - Dom, American Indie Rock; July 13th - Twangbusters, rootsy blues, boogie & hillbilly bop; July 20th - Delta Generators - blues and soul; and July 27th - Dale LaPage & the Manhattans.
