NEW: Clark University Commencement Speaker Announced

Schneider’s organization includes more than 1,250 undergraduate liberal education institutions – public and private. Under her guidance, the AAC&U launched Liberal Education and American’s Promise (LEAP), a public advocacy and campus action program. The organization has been recognized for its work to strengthen the quality of student learning in college and is trying to expand the benefits of liberal education across the college curriculum.
Schneider, who has taught at the University of Chicago, DePaul University, Chicago State University and Boston University, will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters during the graduation.
Two others will also be given honorary Doctor of Humane Letter degrees: Ian Smillie, founder of the Canadian NGO Inter Pares and former executive director of CUSO, the Canadian Peace Corps, and William Mosakowski, who founded the Public Consulting Group (PCG) in 1986. The consulting firm serves state and local health and human services programs and has employees in three countries.
In addition, Clark University will award Dr. Donald M. Berwick an honorary Doctor of Science degree during Commencement exercises. He is a professor of pediatrics and health care policy at Harvard Medical School as well as an adjunct staff pediatrician at Children’s Hospital in Boston.
The graduation starts at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20.
