Guest MINDSETTER™ John McRae: Guns, Fear + Crazy School Behavior
Tuesday, April 16, 2013
Many went straight to the streets where they continue to suffer and eventually die ignominious deaths with almost no one except the police noticing. But, it seems to me, a significant number must have managed to somehow get themselves hired out as school teachers and administrators in the American public school system. How else to explain the now daily drumbeat of preposterous decisions being rendered by these "educators" who appear to be drunk out of their minds on a toxic brew of know-it-all nanny-statism and an especially virulent form of political correctness? They have clearly lost their minds when it comes to the question of guns, not to mention a host of other issues having absolutely nothing to do with the business of teaching the children to do prosaic things like, say, to read, write, and compute correctly.
Just this week we learn of a fifth grader in Pennsylvania, and another in Texas (both little girls, by the way) SUSPENDED(!) from their schools for engaging in a little impromptu origami and folding a piece of paper into the shape of a gun. Thanks, feminists, I knew it was only a matter of time before even little girls discover the fun of things little boys have been enjoying for the past couple of hundred years in this country. In some other state, a second grade boy is SUSPENDED(!) because he nibbled away parts of a Danish pastry to create the shape of... you guessed it... a"heater." Question: Did the cops put the cuffs on this little Artful Dodger as they led him away? So good to know the teacher in the lunch room was on her (well, maybe his) toes; who knows the trouble society may have been spared by catching this little wretch before he became his generation's Charlie Manson. A middle school kid who admires the Marines comes to school in a T-shirt which says MARINES and shows a small image of the rifle all Marines are trained to use is told to turn the shirt inside out or be, that's right, SUSPENDED(!). He, terrified of offending these security agents of the state, complies. And the message of the ruling class is hammered home to all those children standing back and observing:guns are evil, and people who like them are to be feared and punished.
Now, look, I could cite an almost endless list of recent incidents where completely innocent children—mostly boys—doing what kids the world over have been doing since forever, have been humiliated, threatened, and bullied by these lunatics who call themselves teachers, principals, and superintendents, but why waste my time. You, if you pay any attention at all, must know by now that the crazies have taken over the "asylums", the schools. The question is, what are you going to do about it? If you have a normal kid whom you really love, especially if it's a little boy that you would like to see grow up to be a stable, confident, capable, decent young man who hasn't had his brain washed clean by these Nurse Ratcheds of the schools, you had better be prepared to fight because it is going to happen to you and to your kid, it's almost inevitable.
I used to be sort of proud to have spent much of my work life as a teacher; I thought it was a pretty good way to earn a living, and I worked with a lot of fine people who had a realistic view of life and of children. Not any more. Now, having read of and heard enough horror stories about the commissars who have taken over the schools, I would scrub toilets in an all-night bus station to survive before I would want to associate with what now passes for public school education. Furthermore, I would also do anything I had to in order to avoid putting my kids into such a cruel and vindictive environment as what seems to prevail in far too many school systems across the land, especially at the elementary level, where the children are too young and small to fight back.
Mamas, don't let you babies grow up to be sissies. If they want to run around the yard "shooting" each other with "guns," rejoice, you've got a boy! If they want to try football, or boxing, or karate, or dirt bike riding, or hunting, or fishing, or anything else that the ruling class sneers at, great! If he likes to get muddy, and greasy, and smelly playing with his pals and his toys, all the better. If he occasionally gives or gets a black eye, so what?! When they act like boys have always acted, applaud them, encourage them, and tell the school psychologists, the adjustment counselors, and the supercilious teachers to ---- off. He's your kid, and some day he'll thank you for having fought for his right to have had the privilege of having been a real boy. Don't let unstable people who "care"(and who probably should be in a different type of institution than a school) have a shot at destroying the natural joy, innocence, and excitement of being a child.
