Weather: Intense Storm Brings Early Morning Snow Wind Rain
Monday, November 08, 2010
The intense storm which moved in last night left up to just over 2 inches of snow in parts of Northern Rhode Island and a thin blanket of the white stuff, mainly on grassy areas elsewhere. Measured snow amounts ranged from 2.2” in North Foster to 0.4” in Kingston. While the snow is over, a nasty mix of rain, drizzle, strong gusty winds and raw, chilly air will prevail through the remainder of the day and tonight, and to a lesser degree tomorrow.
As of noon the storm was centered just east of Block Island and was drifting to the south. It will loop east of Southern New England tonight and gradually slide off to the east thereafter. Thus, our weather should improve only very slowly over the next couple of days with far better outdoor conditions from Thursday into the weekend
