Upgrade Bathtime
If you are a bath girl by nature, then you know it’s a time to relax, unwind and let your troubles drain away. Take your bath to the next level with the magic three: salts, soaks and scent. Slough off dead skin and worries with locally made Stella Marie Soap Company’s Salt Body Scrub in Lavender and Eucalyptus ($10). Load up on RI Soapworks Mineral Bath Salts ($7.95) to soak your mind into tranquility. And don’t forget to stop into Tranquility Soy Candles (33 Priscilla Drive, Barrington, 486-5969) to stock up on lovely scents to bathe by candlelight. Add a good book, some relaxing music and/or a glass of wine and you have it made!
Lend a Hand
At-home manicures can be super relaxing if you have the right tools! Your hands will enjoy some extra attention with a super rich hand cream like Shikai Borage Dry Skin Therapy ($8.50, Whole Foods). Give yourself a hand massage by working the cream into the palms of your hands and then gently pulling on each finger and working into cuticles. Follow by wiping down each nail bed to remove excess cream, buff and paint in a festive color like Revlon’s All Fired Up ($8, drug stores).
Holiday Heels
Oh those holiday shoes look fierce but your feet need relief! An at-home pedicure is the perfect way to show you care. Splurge on a Conair Massaging Foot Spa ($69.95, Brookstone, Providence) which vibrates, heats and includes tools to polish, scrub and loofah your feet to ultimate softness. Follow with a luxe foot cream like Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Crème and don socks to bed. You will wake up walking on air and ready to face the day and the next glass of eggnog.
Face Time
Your skin needs some tender loving care so why not just go for it? Start by wetting your face and exfoliating with a yummy scrub like Fresh Sugar Face Polish ($55, Facing Thayer or Sephora) that rids you of dead skin and impurities and leaves your face as fresh as new fallen snow. Next up is a relaxing mask, we happen to love Laura Mercier’s Hydra Soothing Gel Mask ($32, Nordstrom) which hydrates, soothes and plumps the skin. Finally, pamper your skin with moisture with Ava Anderson Non-Toxic Moisturizer ($19.95) and you’ll feel fresh and fantastic!
