Fashion Favorite Anthropologie Coming to Garden City

Monday, November 01, 2010

It's the same kind of thrill the foodies experienced when Trader Joe's announced it was coming to RI.

Finally, lovers of the unique fashion and home stylings of Anthropologie will be able to indulge their fantasies right here in the Ocean State. The immensely popular (and imitated) chain will locate its first store in Rhode Island... in Garden City. It's going to be more than 12,000 square feet of the high-end-Eurostyle-meets-vintage-meets-bohemiana that has distinguished the Anthropologie aesthetic since the retailer first launched in 1992 in Pennsylvania.

It's coming!

The store, located in Garden City's Village area, is scheduled to open in April of 2011, and is already posting online for employees and managers.

Anthropologie operates more than 135 stores in the US, and enjoys a robust online and catalog business that caters to style-lovers from more than 30 countries. The group also hosts The Anthropologist, an online center for creative projects that has hosted work by filmmaker Jane Campion, among others.

And yet, anyone who has shopped Anthropologie knows that the real thrill lies in the shopping experience at the richly appointed stores. April can't come soon enough.
