Poetic Potion
One of my favorite fragrances is L’Artisan Parfumeur Fou D’Absinthe. As addictive as the secretive drink absinthe of poets and artists, this heady scent is fresh, freeing and unisex. With notes of pine needles and fir balsam, it is ideal for this time of year. Pick up a bottle at Simple Pleasures in Providence (varied prices).
Stars Align
A timeless scent that is on theme for the holidays is Angel by Thierry Mugler. This iconic scent, over 15 years old, breathes new life into the spirit with notes of chocolate, vanilla and pure indulgence. The bottles themselves are masterpieces, each one carefully crafted in Grasse, France, before making their journey here. Visit the Thierry Mugler Parfums counter at Nordstrom to own your own bottle (varied prices).
Winter Wonderland
Leave it to Bath and Body Works to constantly reinvent holiday scents. The company’s new Secret Wonderland is fun, fruit and festive. Notes of strawberry, frosted jasmine and white amber relax and revitalize the senses. Products range from body splash to bubble bath, body cream and body lotion ($10-$25).
Clean Slate
Feel fresh and clean no matter how many parties you attend with Clean’s 4-Piece Fragrance Collection at Sephora. This set includes four one-ounce bottles of Original scent, Warm Cotton, Shower Fresh and Outdoor Shower Fresh. Layer two or more to make your own scent or just wear one to keep it simple. Either way, you’ll feel as fabulous as the start of a New Year!
Wrapped in Scent
One of Donna Karan’s signature fashion pieces is her versatile “Cozy” wraparound sweater and she has transformed that feeling of warmth into her classic Cashmere Mist fragrance. Notes of orchid, lily, jasmine and sandalwood make this scent one you can settle into and enjoy. Head over to Ulta for a selection of Cashmere Mist items including the fragrance and body care products.
