The addition of Young – who has written extensively for a range of national and regional magazines and newspapers, including TV Guide, Shape Magazine, and The Providence Phoenix (he has been co-author of Rhode Island’s longest running political columns, Phillipe & Jorge) is a coup for the 9-month-old local digital media company

Young joins an editorial staff that features the talents of Meteorologist John Ghiorse, Sports Editors Scott Cordischi and Mike Parente, News and Political Editor Stephen Beale, and Lifestyle Editor Tracey Minkin to name but a few.
Recently, GoLocalProv, a new digital model for delivering local news and information, announced that after the initial 9 months of operation the site has exceeded 30% market penetration. More than 225,000 absolute unique visitors have visited the site. According to the US census there are a total of 700,000 Rhode islanders who have access to the Internet via home and/or office.
