NEW: CCRI Honors Six Distinguished Graduates

Thursday, March 17, 2011

On April 1, the Community College of Rhode Island Alumni Association will induct four native Rhode Islanders into the association’s Society of the Knights. This event will also honor two others with the Honorary Alumni Award for service to the College.

CCRI, New England’s largest community college, is recognizing these four alumni inductees for their active role as leaders in the community, their personal and professional achievements, and their volunteer service to the college community.

The honorees are Senator Hanna M. Gallo ‘76 and ’81; George K. Loftus ’79, the president and CEO of Oshean Inc.; Richard W. Rose ’82, assistant US attorney; and Betty Anne Waters ’89, an attorney who was featured in the film “Conviction.”  The Honorary Alumni Award will be received by Mary K. Baker, the assistant to the director of administration at CCRI, and Jennifer Bramley, the principal of Bramley Communications.

The induction ceremony will take place during A Knight of Stars Event at Quidnesset Country Club in North Kingstown, beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by awards, dinner and entertainment.

Tickets will be sold for $75 each, with all of the proceeds to go towards financial aid for CCRI students. For more information about the fundraiser, visit: www.ccri.edu/alumni.
